Matisse Poupard
PhD in Cognitive Sciences
I am a cognitive science researcher interested in how humans learn! I am currently a postdoctoral researcher and teaching fellow at the Flowers AI & Cognitive Science Lab (Inria Bordeaux), where I combine research and teaching.
My work explores how cognitive effort and perceived difficulty shape learning, at the intersection of cognitive load theory and curiosity-driven learning models.
I’m also interested in the role of digital technologies as both learning tools and learning microscopes: from immersive environments (VR/AR) that help us better understand learners’ engagement, motivation, and performance, to new ways of measuring learning, such as body movement and learners’ exploration of their learning environment
